Research Highlight
Our recent publication Phosphoproteins in extracellular vesicles as candidate markers for breast cancer. (I-Hsuan Chen, Liang Xue, Chuan-Chih Hsu, Juan Sebastian Paez Paez, Li Pan, Hillary Andaluz, Michael K Wendt, Anton B Iliuk, Jian-Kang Zhu, W Andy (2017). Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 114(12):3175-3180) has been highlighted in A Perspective on Extracellular Vesicles Proteomics (Livia Rosa-Fernandes, Victória Bombarda Rocha, Victor Corasolla Carregari, Andrea Urbani, Giuseppe Palmisano (2017). Front Chem. 5: 102). Three potential phosphopeptide markers belonging to the RALGAPA2, PRKG1, and TJP2 proteins were validated by PRM and showed to be significantly different between patients with breast cancer compared with healthy subjects, which gave them some help to some extent.
Research Highlight
Our recent publication Estimating the Efficiency of Phosphopeptide Identification by Tandem Mass Spectrometry. (Hsu CC, Xue L, Arrington JV, Wang P, Paez Paez JS, Zhou Y, Zhu JK, Tao WA (2017). J Am Soc Mass Spectrom. 28(6): 1127-1135) has been highlighted in the publication Evaluation of Parameters for Confident Phosphorylation Site Localization Using an Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid Mass Spectrometer (Samantha Ferries, Simon Perkins, Philip J. Brownridge, Amy Campbell, Patrick A. Eyers, Andrew R. Jones, Claire E. Eyers (2017). J. Proteome Res., 16 (9): 3448–3459). Our research gave them an idea about the performance of high-throughput phosphoproteomics studies by using conventional ion trap collision-induced dissociation (CID).
Congratulations to Prof. Andy Tao
Congratulations to Professor Andy Tao who has received the Outstanding Commercialization Award for Purdue University faculty for developing a method to detect and monitor breast cancer using a simple blood test and bladder cancer using a urine test! The methods were developed in collaboration with the company Tymora Analytical Operations. Click here and here.
